Students can study French or English at our school, reflecting the very essence of a bilingual Canada. Our mission is to significantly improve your English or French language skills in a fun and engaging atmosphere.

Sea to Sky International Language School (SSILS) offers several language programming streams.

Our language programs are customized to suit the lifestyle and needs of our clients.

You may join Sea to Sky International Language School (SSILS) and begin a language program in any month of the year. In general, SSILS is able to quickly process your application and secure your permitting with Canadian Authorities.

Applicants must be aware of exactly what SSILS offers, how it runs its business model, and what services are received by students.  Please read the FAQ! SSILS is the affordable language school option and we don’t want you to have inconsistent expectations.

Facts about SSILS and what a SSILS student wants:

  1. The first international students began studying in Whistler in October 2009;
  2. This is a small school.  For 2011 – 2013 the goal is for at least 40 to 100 students studying and/or completing Co-op work placements in SSILS;
  3. SSILS is the low cost, least expensive language school option;
  4. The emphasis is on quality instructors and curriculum.  The goal is to teach students English or French as quickly and effectively as possible;
  5. SSILS does not put any resources into fancy computer labs, libraries (Whistler has a $10 million dollar library three minutes away!), airport shuttle services, arranging accommodations, storage lockers for skis/snowboards, school t-shirts and bags, flat screen TVs, highly paid administrative staff etc.  If you want to receive the aforementioned types of services, then you have the option of attending other schools with much higher tuition rates;
  6. In general, SSILS students are a little bit older, have completed a college or University degree, and don’t want the school to provide extra services that result in increased tuition rates;
  7. SSILS students want high quality instruction in a comfortable classroom close to the ski lifts;
  8. SSILS students DO NOT want to pay for unnecessary services and facilities.
